Adams leads Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals; his biography describes a wider enterprise with over 280,000 employees. Those figures have different scopes.

How many employees does Kaiser Permanente have?

The national Fast Facts page gives approximately 225,854 employees as of June 30, 2026. Its scope excludes Risant Health and affiliates, and its employee definition includes nurses and other non-physician caregivers. Do not add the nurse count again.

The Greg Adams biography refers to over 280,000 employees across a wider enterprise that includes Risant Health and its organizations. The biography does not give an explicit as-of date for that metric. It therefore should not silently replace the dated national figure.

Keep other scale metrics on their own dates

Fast Facts reports 12.9 million members, 40 hospitals and 610 medical offices and other outpatient facilities under its stated June 2026 scope. Its physician and nurse figures carry separate December 31, 2025 footnotes.

The workbook preserves these date and scope fields. Employees, physicians, members and facilities are different measures and should never be combined into a single headcount. This article also does not list every regional president, medical-group executive or board member.
