BrowserAct Extract Data Item Node-Beginner’s Guide

Learn BrowserAct's Extract Data Item sub-node for Loop List workflows. Extract structured fields from Items for forum analysis, e-commerce monitoring, and recruitment. Explore features, rules, examples, and FAQ to streamline data collection efficiently.
The BrowserAct "Extract Data Item" node lets you quickly collect and organize specific fields from every item in a list—like titles, prices, or author names—when you use a Loop List workflow. It's designed to make your web data gathering simple and reliable, with no coding required.
What Does Extract Data Item Do?
This node sits inside a Loop List and pulls the data you care about from each item in your target list, one at a time. For example, you can grab product names and prices from an e-commerce site or pull post titles, bodies, and like counts from a forum.
When Should You Use It?
Use Extract Data Item if you want to:
· Collect specific, structured fields from items in a list (such as product info, job details, post metadata)
· Filter the data by specific rules (e.g., only grab posts from the last 3 days)
· Always get clean, consistent data by filling missing values with 'N/A'
How to Set Up Extract Data Item (Step by Step)
1. Add to Loop List Node
Click the + button inside your Loop List workflow to insert an Extract Data Item node.
2.Configure Extraction Fields:
- -Data Field: Extract the following fields from the post item: Post Title, Post Body, Publication Time, Likes Count. Use 'N/A' for any missing fields.
- -Filtering Criteria: Extract only data with publication time within the past 3 days.

3. Run and Output
The node collects one set of fields from each list item, then aggregates everything—so when your Loop List finishes, you have a ready-to-export table or dataset.
Example: Scraping Amazon Product Info
Suppose you want product names, prices, ratings, and a description for each listing.
1.Start with a Loop List node set to the product grid
Region = "Product list in the central section of the page"; Max Items = 13.
2.Add Extract Data Item
Prompt = "Extract the following fields from the current product Item: Product Name, Price, Image URL , Rating, Description Snippet . Use 'N/A' for any missing fields."

When your automation runs, each field is extracted and neatly organized for export.
FAQ Highlights
· You can extract any fields visible in the list item—no hard limit
· If any field isn't present, it gets filled with 'N/A' for consistency
· Each Loop List can have just one Extract Data Item node at a time
Quick Tips
· Always specify which fields you need up front
· Use filtering rules if you only want recent or relevant items
· Aggregated results make data easy to export—just select your format at the end
If you're automating a specific page or want help setting up filtering, just say what fields matter to you and where your list is positioned on the site. Step-by-step, the process makes it easy to structure and collect web data any way you need.
