Brief
Turn your Telegram bot into a covert marketing intelligence tool! Send a brand name to the bot to scrape active ad campaigns, analyze strategy using AI, and receive a strategic scorecard with an "Advertise" or "Wait" verdict.
What does Monitor competitor ad activity do?
This workflow acts as a personal marketing intelligence analyst. It functions by:
- Command Parsing: An AI Agent analyzes your Telegram message to extract the brand name you want to spy on (e.g., "Nike").
- Scraping: BrowserAct executes a background search on ad libraries (like Facebook or Google) to find active campaigns for that specific brand.
- Strategic Analysis: A "Senior Marketing Analyst" AI reviews the data to count active ads, identify marketing hooks, and determine if the competitor is scaling.
- Reporting: Delivers a formatted HTML scorecard to Telegram with a final verdict (e.g., "ADVERTISE NOW" or "WAIT").
What data can you scrape from the target website ?
This template is designed to scrape and analyze:
- Active Ad Count: The volume of ads currently running (a key indicator of scaling).
- Ad Copy & Hooks: The actual text, headlines, and marketing angles being used.
- Creative Types: Information on whether the brand is using video, images, or carousels.
How to use Monitor competitor ad activity ?
- Credentials: Connect Telegram, BrowserAct, and Google Gemini in n8n.
- BrowserAct Setup: Ensure the "Competitor Ad Activity Monitor" template is saved in your BrowserAct account.
- Telegram Bot: Create a bot via BotFather and add the API token to your Telegram credentials.
- Activate: Turn on the workflow.
- Test: Send a message like "Check ads for Nike" to your bot to generate a report.
Why scrape the target website ?
Scraping ad libraries allows you to:
- Gain Competitive Advantage: See exactly what your competitors are doing without manually clicking through ad libraries.
- Spot Trends: Identify winning products or new marketing angles instantly.
- Save Research Time: Automate the manual task of "spying" on other brands before launching your own campaigns.
Customization Options:
- Adjust Logic: Modify the AI prompt to change how the verdict is calculated (e.g., prioritize video ads).
- Add Sources: Update BrowserAct to scrape TikTok Creative Center or LinkedIn Ads.
- Change Output: Send reports to a Slack channel instead of Telegram.
Requirements:
- BrowserAct account (with "Competitor Ad Activity Monitor" template).
- Telegram Bot Token.
- Google Gemini account.
